Lifeguard - West Hartford, CT Part-time, up to 20 hrs/wk HealthFitness is looking for Lifeguards to join the aquatics team at our client site located in West Hartford, CT. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests. **What you'll be doing** + Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities. + Enforce and explain rules as necessary. + Respond appropriately to any emergency. + Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members. + Other duties as needed/assigned. **What you'll need to have** + Must be at least 16 years old. + American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification required. + Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards. + Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills. + Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required. + Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. **All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:** + 500 yard swim. + Active, Passive, Submerged rescues. + Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water. + Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program. **Compensation** : $16.50/hr.
