**Posting Details** Classification Information **Position/Classification Title** **Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies** No **Minimum Education/Experience** An NCCU student in good standing. **Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** Lifeguards must possess an American Red Cross Lifeguarding, YMCA Lifeguarding, or equivalent -Represent Campus Recreation and Wellness in a professional and courteous manner. -Maintain safety through preventative life guarding and provide emergency first aid when necessary. -Inform pool patrons about the rules and regulations. -Maintain constant vision of all swimmers, placing yourself in a position that allows you to see the bottom of the pool at all times. -Perform initial rescue and call for emergency personnel in emergency situations. -Work in coordination with the other lifeguards to assist in all emergency situations. -Responsible for the cleaning of pool deck and other pool related duties **Recruitment Range** $15.00 Position Overview **Primary Purpose of Position** The purpose of this position is to serve in the role of Lifeguard while the pool is operation. The position is required to complete and fulfill all requirements of a certified lifeguard. **Primary Function of Organizational Unit** Campus Recreation and Wellness provides a comprehensive co-curricular experience for North Carolina Central University Students. Housed in the Division of Student Affairs Campus Recreation and Wellness is committed to providing programming to enhance the student experience while encouraging healthy habits. In addition Campus Recreation and Wellness serves the university community in providing programs to support an active lifestyle on the campus.
