Light Industrial Assembler
**Job Title: Light Industrial Assembler** **Job Description** The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for the installation of various types of equipment per manufacturer's specifications found in transit light and heavy rail vehicles. Responsibilities include following a pre-established schedule for the installation of equipment on transit vehicles, including those associated with propulsion, trucks, pneumatic supply and brake control, air conditioning, fiberglass panels, glass, flooring, and doors to achieve manufacturer specifications. The role also involves using precision measuring devices, measuring and inspecting completed work to confirm adherence to specifications, and accurately recording all findings in provided Test Reports for inclusion into Car History Books. Additionally, the Mechanical Assembler will perform modifications to rail vehicles as directed by engineering and supervisory staff, read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and work orders, document work performed and parts and materials used, follow specified safety procedures, and use and maintain hand and power tools equipment of the trade. **Hard Skills** + Mechanical Assembly + Measuring Devices + Product Inspection **Job Type** This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Hagerstown, Maryland. **Work Environment** New facility, climate-controlled, state-of-the-art equipment and tech **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
