POSITION PURPOSE: The Lighting Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide installation and maintenance support for energy conservation lighting upgrade projects throughout the Southern California region. This would include installation, repair and maintenance of building lighting systems and equipment. The type of projects include, public works, k-12 schools, community colleges, commercial offices, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities and hospitality properties. The Field Electrician will report directly to the Project Manager assigned to the project.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation & maintenance of lighting systems.Troubleshooting electrical problems.Maintain and comply with safety regulations.Operate aerial lift equipment.Perform service related work activities.Project material inventory and stock management. Ensure good housekeeping at the job site. Other miscellaneous tasks.QualificationsEducation / Experience / Background
High school education or graduate from an accredited electrical apprenticeship program, apprentice electrician or a closely related field, orElectrical construction experience, lighting retrofit experience, lighting maintenance experience.Preferred experience working in the lighting industry.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge of electrical systems.Ability to identify and separate wires by color.Ability to work from A-frames, extension ladders and scaffolds at various heights.Ability to lift, position and fasten objects such as wire, conduit and light fixtures.Ability to carry materials and tools from location to location or floor to floor.Ability to work under hot and cold weather conditions, indoors and outdoors.Ability to lift and work with tools and equipment above head.Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Must be dependable and able to multi-task with a strong attention to detail.
