Line Clearance Trimmer
Position Summary While providing supervision, a Line Clearance Trimmer maintains trees for public safety. This position provides tree trimming for assigned jobs by pruning, cutting, removing, and caring for trees. You will provide on-the-job training, specific day-to-day directions, and supervise crews in this position. This position is a top-level class in the Tree Trimmer series and serves as Lead Trimmer in the Foreperson or General Foreperson's absence.    Duties and Responsibilities Include Essential Duties: Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, or lift truck Works from the ground using saw/pruners Cuts branches or trunk sections and drops or lowers them to the ground with lines Uses appropriate tools to fell trees or trim trunks and splits them into manageable pieces  Sprays stumps and brush with hand-spraying equipment to prevent further growth Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris & feeds brush into a wood chipper Repairs slight damage to lawns, fences, and walks caused by tree trimming Safeguards employees and the public from hazards by relaying hand signals and directing traffic Trains new employees on proper procedures Performs tree and bucket rescue as trained Assumes responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment Requests repair or replacement of equipment, when necessary Works around energized power lines and hazardous equipment Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice   What You'll Bring to the Team Herbicide applicator or operators certification and license, as required Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record per Company policy Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities Attention to detail Organizational skills Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to problem solve Meet all physical requirements of the position Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required Legally authorized to work in the United States   Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
