Overview As a Line Cook at Wyndham Hotel, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, contributing to the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will work in a fast-paced environment, preparing high-quality dishes with precision and efficiency. Your role will involve executing menu items, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring the consistent presentation of our food offerings. Qualifications Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items to Wyndham Hotel’s standards. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications. Station Management: Efficiently manage assigned kitchen station, including setup, cooking, and cleanup. Ensure that all ingredients and supplies are stocked and organized. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene. Monitor food temperatures, ingredient freshness, and consistency of dish presentation. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Communicate effectively to coordinate and prioritize tasks. Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed. Report any shortages or equipment issues to the Kitchen Manager. Skills and Qualifications: Culinary Skills: Proficiency in cooking techniques and knowledge of food safety practices. Experience in preparing a variety of dishes and working with diverse ingredients. Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in food preparation, presentation, and adherence to recipes and portion sizes. Time Management: Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Capable of prioritizing duties and managing time effectively. Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and shifts. Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to addressing and resolving kitchen issues, such as ingredient shortages or equipment malfunctions. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot and fast-paced environment. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent: Preferred but not required. Culinary Training or Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or formal culinary education is advantageous. Certification: Food handler’s certification or equivalent may be required depending on local regulations.
