Summary

The Instrument Man I provides effective and accurate layout by using various survey equipment available. Performs layout activities as directed by the Party Chief, Superintendent, and/or Foreman for the installation of layout in a small to mid-size project. Has an understanding of SQP goals and applies this knowledge to perform the work. Works in the field to resolve any conflicts with tolerances and field constructability issues. Contributes to safety on the project by perpetuating the IIF culture.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Instrument Man I will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. Operates Surveying Equipment to Layout the Work Provides Layout which Adheres to Quality Control Requirements Ensures a Safe Work Environment Participates in Training/Certifications Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of construction experience, 2 of which are as a Rodman.
