Job Summary

 

Responsible for the daily operation of the machinery involved in batching and packaging polymeric sand bags. Operates plant machinery as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsible for ensuring that the dryer is functioning properly and dries at the right temperature and flow rate, thus respecting the directives on how to manipulate the equipment.  Makes necessary process adjustment as needed Work in an environment using combustible material (propane) Responsible to fill the dryer with the proper sand as per manufacturing orders and assuring that the dryer works at all times during the shift Supports the production laborer when you are not drying sand or when requested by the company Other duties and/or responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned as needed​​​

High school diploma or GED equivalent; experience in trades specific to job requirements; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedural manuals A self-starter and the ability to work independently Strong teamwork and communication skills Strong mechanical aptitude Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of PPE) Complete all necessary documentation, electronic data entries, and communications accurately and timely Experience running an automated production line (e.g polymeric sand bagging Building materials industry knowledge Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a forklift in a production environment and warehouse setting While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with teammates & monitor and listen for system performance irregularities The employee will be required to stand for extended periods of time The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level. The need to lift over 65 lbs. may arise from time to time – should this be the case, employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely lift The employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body – bending, crouching, climbing - using steps and ladders, pushing pulling, stooping and reaching

 

Compensation 

 

Hourly rate - Starting at $18-21/hour  Work schedule : day shift, 40 hrs/week
