Linguistic Analyst
Overview SOSi is seeking an Linguistic Analyst to join our team supporting technical experts in analysis and review of pertinent information that is presented among other duties assigned. Essential Job Duties Source documents and/or other forms of media are received from various entities. The Linguistic Analysts work closely with Government personnel as technical experts in drug control analysis to review and analyze the document(s) and/or other media for any information pertinent to ongoing investigations. The Linguistic Analysts shall analyze operational trends, evaluate statistical information, and provide program continuity. This is to be accomplished by analyzing and comparing applicable elements of specific communications and by supplying substantive analytical support to identify trends and subject patterns of intercepted information. Linguistic Analysts research and conduct analysis of intercepted materials, and a variety of other information, to identify indicators required in support of investigative operations. Linguistic Analysts also demonstrate expertise in the use of communication techniques. Linguistic Analysts examine all intercepted communication, and using their knowledge and expertise, obtain supplemental information to identify specific operational parameters and patterns. Reports to the Linguistic Supervisor on a daily basis to the findings from the analysis of foreign conversations, source documents, and other investigative material. Compares linguistic examinations of voice communications and serves as an on-site voice recognition resource. The Linguistic Analyst shall be capable of satisfactorily fulfilling all of the functions and duties described for Linguists. The Linguistic Analyst will be responsible for quality assurance of the following linguist work products: translated materials, linguist target identification, voice identification, network identification and development. Minimum Requirements In-scope Secret security clearance is required. Bachelor’s Degree, or a minimum of three (3) years of additional relevant experience. Fully understand the context of the applicable foreign language related material. Must be able to review and verify translations for accuracy and proper context to English. Professional certification for applicable language or significant work experience is required. Ability to comprehend and interpret slang and colloquial expressions in both the foreign language and English. A working knowledge and the ability to effectively use the most current version of Microsoft Office products. Ability to work well under pressure to meet specific deadlines. Fluency in the Spanish language is required. Work Environment Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Full Time, shift-based work (40 hours per week) Mon-Sun and either shift 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM or 3:30 PM- 12:00 AM. Not eligible for remote work unless required and approved by the customer.
