Enterprise Unix/Linux Admin

Looking for an HP UNIX/LINUX infrastructure administrator to join our team. Consultant will be responsible for managing and administering SOMS/eUHR HP UNIX/LINUX environment.

Experience Required:

*HP UX 11.0+. Guest creation, Image/model management.

*HP UNIX/LINUX migration, maintenance and resiliency.

*Main representation for OPS team for HP UNIX/LINUX area.

*Main interface for UNIX/LINUX activities.

*Co-ownership of team operational HP UNIX/LINUX responsibilities. *Implementation, management and operation of HP UIX performance applications.

*HP UNIX/LINUX interface for CDCR EIS team. Document configuration, maintenance and DED deliverables.

Plan quarterly forecast and schedule for maintenance.

This is an on call position. Rotation through OPS team. Cross train on call team for enhanced first pass repair yield.

Knowledge and experience:

Working enterprise Hp UX UNIX/LINUX knowledge. Strong HP UNIX/LINUX 11.0 methods and configuration. Strong working understanding of HP UNIX/LINUX performance and capacity considerations. Working knowledge and experience for user access and permissions. Active directory configuration. Base understanding of network and firewall configuration. Operation in VLAN structure configuration and management. Security intrusion/breech hardening concepts. Strong manual HP UX patch concepts and management techniques required. Automated patch management strongly preferred. Strong HP UX Serviceguard preference. Performance tools in a mixed compute environment.

5 years experience with general HP UNIX/LINUX administration

Minimum of 2 years experience managing Enterprise HP UX 11.+ server environments (over 100 servers/images)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong ability to work in a team and customer environment

Must have 2 years experience with HP UNIX/LINUX monitoring and management tools including reporting on HP UNIX/LINUX activity and performance. Experience configuring and managing within Enterprise AD and LDAP configurations. Working understanding and experience in UNIX/LINUX manual and automated provision methods and utilities. Interface experience with EMC storage devices. Strong backup and recovery methods.

Compute platform knowledge

OS: Wintel; Linux; UNIX/LINUX

HW: HP C7000 (BL480,BL680,BL860); HP Rack mount servers; HP RX7640; EMC storage gear; General Cisco gear

Network Concepts

Firewall; Access; Routing; WAN/MAN/LAN; Cisco hardware familiarization

SAN

Brocade SAN fabric knowledge and experience

EMC Symantec/Cellera knowledge

Solid Oracle RAC knowledge (10g,11g) a strong preference

HP UNIX/LINUX LAN/WAN performance troubleshooting experience

Backup and restore techniques

General infrastructure performance and capacity techniques
