Noblis MSD is seeking a Linux GUI Developer supporting the next generation Navy tactical communications systems on Linux systems on site at NIWC Atlantic in Charleston, SC.

 

We are seeking a motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented software engineer to assist our Navy customer in defining, developing, implementing, maintaining, supporting, tuning, and troubleshooting software and hardware infrastructure related to a GUI interface for a Linux network application. This key position is part of a dynamic team fulfilling technical needs of our military and will be responsible for developing software applications that support Navy tactical communications systems. This position has a possibility for telework up to 2 days per week. However, we  reserve the right to adjust the schedule, if required to meet the needs of our customer.

 

Responsibilities:

Maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) serversAdministering Red Hat virtual machines (KVM) and containers (Docker/Podman)Developing software applications in Python, ReactJS, and TypeScript/JavaScript on Red Hat Linux platformsAutomation of maintenance tasks using shell scripting (Bash)Maintain source code in software repositories (Git)Assisting in management of network devices, including configuration of layer 2 & 3 switches and routersAssist subject matter experts with software engineering change requests (ECR) and software installation documentationResearch and resolve software trouble reports impacting application functionality.Ensuring compliance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines for IT system security, specifically STIG compliance Required Qualifications

 

Must be a US CitizenMust currently possess and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance.BS Degree in relevant technical field + 3 years of experience OR Associate's Degree + 6 years of experience OR High School Diploma + 9 years of experienceCompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent Desired Qualifications

 

8-10 years of Linux system administration experience5 years of software development experience using Python or Java or C#Demonstrated knowledge of hardware specifications found in desktops, laptops, tablets and serversStrong documentation and oral communication skillsAbility to multi-task and balance multiple goals and prioritiesSelf-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to qualityA passion for learning about, and working in the IT industryBash and shell script development experienceTechnical documentation experienceIP Networking experienceUser Interface Design / HFI Overview

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
