Job Title: Linux System Administrator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled RedHat Linux System Administrator to support the software built for our NGA customer. The role involves performing tasks in support of the NGA M3, ensuring the stability and functionality of the system.

ResponsibilitiesCorrect messages that have failed message format validation for continued processing.Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues with connected systems/applications.Perform message system configuration and database modifications, network configuration changes, and security configuration based on NGA government direction.Install, configure, and test message application software releases and/or patches with existing connected systems.Coordinate and collaborate with the Application Service Provider (ASP)/Infrastructure Support Provider (ISP) on hardware, operating system, transport, or other issues impacting M3 system functionality and availability.Manage and assist in the multimedia messaging software access and permissions to the system for various users.Manage and configure new communication lines, including functional testing with the distant end based on NGA government direction.Maintain functional availability at 99%, allowing for 16 hours of approved downtime per month.Provide support for all agents, real-time dissemination of incoming organizational record messages, retrospective search of historical information, and composition, coordination, and release of organizational record messages.Perform routine application preventive maintenance functions and database backups.Support all NGA and Non-NGA outages that impact the M3 servers.Assist with security, certification, and accreditation of the multimedia messaging systems.Request, install, and update certificates to ensure the servers are properly maintained and functional.Comply with and support applicable Department of Defense (DoD) security policies and NGA Information Technology Risk Management initiatives.Support ongoing NGA cybersecurity initiatives, including responding to M3 system vulnerabilities per NGA’s direction.Essential SkillsExperience with RedHat Linux system administration.Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving connectivity issues.Knowledge of message system configuration, database modifications, and network configuration changes.Experience in installing, configuring, and testing application software releases and patches.Ability to manage and configure new communication lines.Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) security policies.Experience with cybersecurity, vulnerability assessment, and risk management.Additional Skills & QualificationsCybersecurity Subject Matter expertise.Experience with A&A security, certification, and accreditation of multimedia messaging systems.Familiarity with NGA Information Technology Risk Management requirements.Experience with creating ICD-503 compliant system security plans.Ability to create system boundary diagrams and Ports, Protocols, and Services matrices.Experience in utilizing ACAS vulnerability scanning and working with NESSUS agent.Work Environment

This position is onsite at NGA in Springfield with a shift from 10am to 6pm. You will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure system functionality and security compliance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00
