i3 is seeking Journeyman Linux System Administrators to join our team in Vicksburg, MS in support of the Engineering Research and Development Center Supercomputing Resource Center.

Responsibilities Operations for an enterprise VMware vSphere environment including systems, storage, and network management.Comprehensive virtual ecosystems for specialized projects including high availability, data and systems protection, template creation and management, storage management, end user access, versioning, and all other aspects of virtualization utilized to fulfill the project mission.Maintain hardware infrastructure supporting the Virtualization ecosystem including SAN, NAS, network switches, and processing platforms.Varied knowledge and experience of Linux operating systems (RHEL).Knowledge and experience with different database systems (PostgreSQL and MySQL).Knowledge and experience with container solutions (Podman).Knowledge and experience with Ansible.Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software and implementing operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the applications and systems.Provide Systems Administration for Server systems supporting Web, Database, and various GOTS and COTS applications.Coordinate hardware and software upgrades and installations with network and security teams.Ensure compliance with established ERDC cybersecurity compliance standards for Linux and VM computing systems.Troubleshoot technical issues affecting the infrastructure and apply field proven methodologies to determine root cause and return services to expected levels.Implement and ensure operations for DOD security controls such as Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) and Host Based Security Systems (HBSS). Qualifications Master’s Degree from an accredited University and 0 years relevant experienceBachelor’s Degree from an accredited University and 2 years relevant experienceAssociate’s Degree from an accredited College and 4 years relevant experienceHigh School Diploma and 6 years relevant experienceProficiency with RHEL operating systems installation, maintenance, and support.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to Linux system configuration and operations.Working knowledge of Linux Server operating system and proficiency with one or more shell environmentsExperience with systems backup and recovery methodologiesAbility to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver with minimal supervision.Strong written and verbal communication skills.This position requires the ability to obtain a US Top Security/SCI Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
