Representative Duties and Tasks:

Responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systemsMaintains the integrity and security of servers and systemsServes as a front-line interface to users with technical issuesMakes recommendations for hardware and software purchasesCollaborates with the program teams including Operations, Software Development, QA, SecurityInteracts with third-party technology vendorsConducts systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologiesDuties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications and training usersPerforms Server administration for Server Operating SystemsPerforms administration of physical and virtualized serversResponsible for the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of physical and virtual hardwareConfigures, maintains and troubleshoots network related interfaces on serversPerforms OS and vendor software patching on serversMonitors Physical and Virtual Servers performance using monitoring tools

What you bring to the table:

Experience with installation, configuration, and management of Linux systems (Red Hat experience preferred)Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or a related specialized area or field is required, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Security Clearance Requirements:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. GDIT will sponsor the security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have experience:
