DDC-IT Services is seeking individuals to fill a remote role of Junior Linux System Administrator. The qualified individuals will administer Linux OSs running on multiple flavors/versions, manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent Linux OS on physical and virtual OEs, provide technical oversight and consultation services under others. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Administer Linux OSs running on multiple flavors/versions.Manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent Linux OS on physical and virtual OEs, providing technical oversight and consultation services to include, but not limited to, the following: Install, configure, administer, and support secure remote access utilities and applications including: Secure Shell, Secure Web Access, Virtualization (e.g., HyperVisor, VMWare, etc.), and Remote X server access. VMWare virtual machines, Linux administration, Netbackup, backups, NagiosInstall, configure, maintain, manage, and troubleshoot Linux OEs and associated components such as the OS, file system, hardware issues, kernel and OS performance, DNS, network attached storage, storage area networks, and networking components including virtual local area networks, BIOS, and bonded network interfaces. Configure and sustain OEs aligning with DoD-provided requirements/engineering specifications as related to each specified network and storage components and applicable tool suites, performing functional validation subsequent to system or component modification. Provide 8x5 and on-call support to resolve OE and/or application outages and performance degradations and provide after-hours support per DoD processes for scheduled and unscheduled support for ASIs, maintenance, and other tasks, as needed, to include working non-prime shifts.Proactively monitor OEs using enterprise systems management toolsets, as well as, unique MP toolsets and correct system anomalies. Monitor system performance to identify and correct performance issues.  Manage clustering at the OS level, leveraging clustering software and packages. Monitor, manage, administer and troubleshoot Amazon Web Services (AWS) as necessary to support the environment. Perform Kernel and File System tuning appropriate for the unique requirements of a particular system for optimum performance. Utilize shell and utility scripting (e.g., Bourne, Korn, PERL, BASH, Python, Ansible, and other DoD standard tools) to optimize and automate system administration tasks. Provide technical support for DR efforts (actual or simulated) to include DR documentation. Perform hardware and software technology refreshes, ensuring compliance with tight timelines while coordinating with MPs to minimize disruptions. Manage all tickets (e.g., incident, problem, change, service requests, etc.) in accordance with DoD policies and any MP SLAs. This encompasses any ticketing system used to record tickets utilized by DoD personnel in support of mission requirements. Attend meetings, participate in conference calls, and respond to email/ticket requests to ensure customer support. Perform backup/recovery functions for Linux OEs. Provide a report of overall backup compliance, broken out by team, and then by team member. Perform security/compliance functions for Linux OEs.Provide a report of overall security compliance, broken out by team, and then by team member, where applicable.Provide an Incident Management ticket report outlining compliance.Provide a report outlining volume of change requests, broken out by team, and then by team member, including additional ticketing systems. Provide a report of any automated tasks, including the location of the source files and associated TTPs. Perform other duties as assigned.  Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience): Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret  – T5/T5R Minimum of 5+ year relevant Linux System Administration experience. At least ONE of the IAT level I certifications (A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE or SSCP, plus 50 credits of continuing education certification required every three years.
