Leidos is looking for a Linux System Engineer to join a dynamic Customer team supporting large, complex and secure environments. This position is located in the Northern Virginia area and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph in order to be considered.

Primary responsibilities include:

All aspects of the product development life cycle – creating, implementing, and supporting new product features and capabilities;Improving data processing methods; monitoring and tracking system performance via metrics; managing system access control and security; and systems support including maintenance items such as patching.The Linux Systems Engineer will establish and maintain pre-production environments and will assist in developing and implementing a plan to migrate existing applications from the physical server infrastructure to the enterprise level C2S platform.They will also be responsible for helping to support hundreds of Linux/UNIX machines, VMWare hosts, and EC2 instances in a hybrid computing environment. 

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a TS/SCI with poly to be consideredMust have a Bachelor's degree and minimum 8 years’ experience or 12 years’ experience in lieu of degreeDemonstrated experience with Linux system administration and engineeringDemonstrated experience with Linux system patchingExperience with Linux CentOS 7, Red Hat 7 and/or Scientific Linux 5 (SL5), CentOS8, Red Hat 8Demonstrated experience managing backup and recovery and systems and data.Demonstrated experience with configuration build support and documentationExperience working with and configuration of encryptionExperience working with security team to fix and mitigate vulnerabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and/or experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), VMware and/or other virtualization platforms.Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options and identify viable solutions.Scripting experienceExperience with security standards, processes and toolsExperience working with JIRAOriginal Posting Date:2025-01-08

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
