Position OverviewWe are recruiting for a Linux Systems Administrator that will apply expertise in the installation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of both Linux and Windows-based architectures. Key duties include maintaining operating systems, application support, integration, design, and assistance with additional duties as needed to support the team.
Responsibilities Provide daily operational support for Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems and applicationsSupport virtual and physical infrastructure of servers running CentOS in a dev, test, and production configuration, and support an infrastructure of different applications comprising of end user applications, developer tools and infrastructure support applications.Develop and maintain environments running in Amazon Web Services (AWS).Maintain the integrity and security of systems by monitoring security feeds and dashboards in support of Continuous Monitoring activitiesDevelop and maintain standards and procedures for applications across a complex computing infrastructureMonitor application and operating system performance; analyze, document review and remediate incidents to understand the root causes and ensure implementation of proper fixesDevelop and oversee implementation of testing strategies and document the resultsLeverage scripting and system automation toolsResearch and recommend hardware and software, coordinate installation, and provide backup recoveryCollaborate with system administrators, engineers, and the client to ensure proper integration of applicationsWork with tech team to complete required maintenance and patching, DTOs, File TransfersProvide security reports (e.g. Log files, Scans, etc.) Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required #qinetiqclearedjobBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work experience.Extensive experience with Redhat and/or CentosDemonstrated experience with VMWare ESXi infrastructure 6.x + vCenter server, host clustering with HA, DRS, replicationDemonstrated experience in server builds using automated mechanismDemonstrated experience with Ansible and/or PuppetDemonstrated experience with Ansible playbooks for virtual and physical instance provisioning, configuration management and patching and software developmentDemonstrated experience with building, upgrading and maintaining applications and services in an AWS accountDemonstrated experience with code maintenance using Git, Gitlab, and/or GithubDemonstrated experience with Atlassian Jira and ConfluenceDemonstrated experience with managing Elasticsearch on CentOSDemonstrated experience collaborating with other systems administrators, storage administrators, application developers, and network engineers to solve complex problems Preferred Qualifications Certified Linux System Administrator a plusAWS Certification a plusITIL Foundations Certification a plusCertifications relating to IT Security (CISSP, GIAC, Security+) a plus Company EEO StatementAccessibility/Accommodation:
