Linux Systems Engineer

Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Linux servers and related systems. Perform regular updates, patches, and system upgrades to ensure the security and stability of Linux servers. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to Linux systems. Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and reliability. Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Ensure data security and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Collaborate with other IT team members to integrate Linux systems with existing infrastructure and services. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff. Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects related to Linux technologies. Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions for Linux servers. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of four (4) years of experience administering and maintaining Linux operating systems, with a focus on Red Hat Linux. Current certification as a Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA). Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is desirable. Experience with virtualization technologies such as Nutanix, VMware, or Microsoft Hyper-V. Strong knowledge of Linux system administration, including shell scripting and automation tools. Solid understanding of network protocols, security practices, and troubleshooting techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus. Preferred Skills: Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Familiarity with enterprise-level backup and recovery solutions. Experience with database administration (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL). Estimated Salary/Wage USD $100,000.00/Yr. Up to USD $120,000.00/Yr.
