Our work depends on Linux Systems Engineer joining our team to maintain and develop a range of solutions supporting our customer's Office of Cyber Security (OCS) Cyber Systems Division (CSD).

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to operate a 24x7x365 uptime serviceEngineer systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needsMaintain best practices for managing systems and services across all environmentsPerform fault-finding, analysis, and logging of information for reporting of performance exceptionsProactively monitor system performance and capacity planningManage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes on servers and workstationsCreate and modify scripts or applications to perform tasksProvide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environmentCollaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar relevant degreeExperience: 10+ years of experience with Linux systemsTechnical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu, etc.Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI with PolygraphSkills and Abilities: Experienced with Active Directory IntegrationShell, Bash, and/or Python scriptingLinux security hardening; and protocols such as SSH, SFTP, DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, and SNMPVMware architecture and configuration, VM spinups and patchingStrong problem-solving and communication skillsPreferred Skills: Familiarity with Trellix, Splunk, NetApp, and/or NASLocation: Herndon, VA on customer siteUS Citizenship Required
