The Role

You'll be a troubleshooter extraordinaire, diagnosing and repairing complex equipment, software, and systems with ease. Nothing will be too challenging for you to solve as you respond to escalated issues, report critical design flaws, reliability and maintenance problems, and bugs.
You'll be the go-to person for our customers who require assistance with highly technical or sophisticated products, as well as for customer installations and training. With your passion for technology, you'll provide world-class support that exceeds customer expectations.
As Technical Support, you'll perform varying degrees of problem determination and resolution of desktop hardware and software issues using your technical expertise and available resources to ensure that our customers' issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. You'll also have the opportunity to perform installs, moves, adds, and changes (IMAC) activities, as well as data backup and restore on certain accounts for clients, ensuring that all related administrative duties are completed within Service Level Agreement objectives.
You will develop a deep understanding of the local and regional infrastructure, as well as key contacts in other competencies, which will enable you to ensure that the proper team is aware of – and taking action on the problem.

Responsibilities :
Linux System Administration:Manage, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise-level Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, etc.).Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of Linux-based applications and infrastructure.Automate system tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl).Infrastructure Management:Oversee the deployment and maintenance of Linux servers across multiple environments (production, staging, development).Collaborate with the cloud and network teams to integrate Linux servers with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).Security Management:Implement and enforce security policies for Linux systems, including hardening and patch management.Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.Troubleshoot and resolve security incidents in Linux environments.Performance Monitoring & Optimization:Utilize monitoring tools to track server performance, availability, and capacity planning.Optimize system resources to ensure peak performance and minimize downtime.Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to Linux-based applications and services.Disaster Recovery & Backup Management:Design and implement disaster recovery strategies for Linux systems.Ensure regular backups and restore operations are effectively managed.Collaboration & Support:Provide subject-matter expertise and support to other IT teams for troubleshooting complex issues.Mentor junior Linux administrators and support teams.Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless deployment of applications on Linux platforms.Documentation:Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and best practices.Ensure all system modifications are properly documented and follow change management protocols.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration, preferably in an enterprise environment.
Strong experience with managing large-scale Linux infrastructures
Advanced knowledge of Linux distributions (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, etc.).
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
Deep understanding of Linux networking, file systems, and storage management.
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and virtualization technologies.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).
Monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or similar.
Configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS).
Logging and log management tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Splunk).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certifications (e.g., Linux Foundation Certified Engineer).
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar cloud certifications.
ITIL Foundation certification (or experience with ITIL practices).
Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, etc.).
Experience with advanced logging, monitoring, and automation techniques.
Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and microservices.
