Our client, a global biopharmaceutical company, is looking for a LINUX/windows Systems Support Specialist for their San Diego location.  The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to support, management and maintenance of complex scientific systems with specific emphasis on the applications and environments that house them. The scientific application support specialist should have the ability to work individually or, as part of a team, on research and environment preparation of new or existing scientific applications.

A Day in the Life

Provide technical support services to users and Tier 2 support for  scientific applications. Provide administration and user support for various scientific systems. Develop and maintain technical expertise for all  scientific applications. Build, maintain and provide, on-demand support and other operations services on new and existing scientific systems. Maintain and update knowledge base articles for all  scientific applications resources. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.

What You Bring to the Team

Strong application troubleshooting, analytical, reasoning and research abilities. Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux systems. Working experience of application support is a plus. Work experience in Biotech or Life Science environment a plus.

Synopsis:

·         Will support up to 300 users , San Diego, SF and Boston

·         Windows 2008/2012/LINUX sys Admin role within a Laboratory Environment

·         Creating users,  install and configuration and support applications
