**Job Title: Packaging Operator**
**Job Description**
As a Packaging Operator, you will be responsible for the final packaging of various flavors such as powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts, according to batch ticket instructions. You will work closely with Batch Processors to ensure batches are packaged with priorities on food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy. You may also operate machinery, including mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks. The role requires the ability to read labels and follow safety procedures. Additionally, you will package the correct quantity of the finished product with accurate labeling and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
**Responsibilities**
+ Package flavors according to batch ticket directions.
+ Work closely with Batch Processors to ensure food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
+ Operate machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks.
+ Read labels and follow safety procedures.
+ Package the correct finished product quantity with the correct label.
+ Record operational and production data on specified forms.
+ Transport materials, supplies, and products between work areas using equipment and sit-down forklifts.
+ Understand the impact and importance of food safety and its role in our products.
+ Communicate any food safety concerns to shift leads or management.
+ Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) including equipment sanitation after each batch.
**Essential Skills**
+ Manufacturing experience
+ Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
+ Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
+ General labor skills
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma required

**Work Environment**
This role is set in a food GMP environment with strong smells due to the nature of the flavors company. Employees must wear steel toe shoes, hair nets, and no jewelry is allowed. Uniforms and lockers will be provided. The role involves lifting and maneuvering heavy boxes and containers, rotating tasks, and following strict food safety protocols.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wauconda, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
