As an investigative resource within the Alcohol Enforcement Program of the Alcohol & Gambling Enforcement Division (AGED), this role involves: + Addressing complaints and various inquiries related to alcohol enforcement from AGED clientele, support staff, and management. + Reviewing and responding to inquiries about industry advertising, promotions, and trade practices to ensure compliance with current and new laws, policies, and procedures. + Initiating contact with all levels of the alcohol beverage industry to ensure compliance. + Conducting investigations, responding to complaints, and preparing detailed reports that could lead to civil penalties. + Collaborating with AGED Special Agents on cases involving criminal charges for violations of alcohol beverage statutes. + Performing pre-license inspections to ensure licenses meet the standards outlined in Chapter 340A and 7515. + Assisting local law enforcement by providing statutory, regulatory, and policy information on alcohol regulation and enforcement. + Representing the division by speaking at public or industry meetings, conferences, contested case hearings, and legislative sessions. + Fulfilling requests from alcohol beverage industry associations for written materials on various issues related to alcohol regulation and enforcement to be published in industry publications. **Minimum Qualifications** + Demonstrated experience conducting investigations or interviews + Experience writing reports sufficient to document the results of investigations and/or interviews + High School Diploma/GED + Strong and effective oral and written communication skills + Must be a minimum of 21 years old + Must have and maintain a valid Class D Driver’s license (basic driver’s license) + Pass a criminal history background check (record free of felonies) + Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities **Preferred Qualifications** + Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice Degree + Prior experience with Minnesota alcohol beverage regulation + Auditing and bookkeeping sufficient to determine compliance to applicable laws + Experience interpreting and communicating laws and regulations + Experience in legal procedures such as due process, chain of evidence, and preparation for court hearings **Physical Requirements** Requires occasionally moving and transporting 50 pound items and frequently moving and transporting objects such as heavy tools and heavy file boxes.
