Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney (3-5+ Years) - HYBRID - Philadelphia, PA
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Center City)
We are representing a medium sized law firm specializing in community association and construction law that is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigator to join its dynamic legal team.
This role involves representing homeowners’ associations (HOAs), condominium associations, cooperatives, and clients involved in construction-related disputes. The firm offers a collaborative and supportive environment and is committed to delivering outstanding legal services.
Key Responsibilities
+ Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, trial, judgment enforcement, and appeals.
+ Manage a diverse caseload involving community association and construction law disputes.
+ Advise community association boards and property managers on risk management and pre-litigation strategies.
+ Collaborate with expert witnesses, contractors, and engineers in construction defect matters.
+ Draft and review pleadings, legal briefs, contracts, and settlement agreements.
+ Conduct depositions, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court or alternative dispute resolution forums.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations affecting community associations and the construction industry.
+ Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic and practical legal advice tailored to their needs.
Requirements
Qualifications
Required:
+ Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
+ Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania; New Jersey licensure is a plus.
+ Minimum of 3-5+ years of litigation experience, particularly in community association law, construction defects, or real estate disputes.
+ Strong understanding of state and federal laws governing construction defects, contract disputes, and community associations.
+ Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
+ Demonstrated success in trial and appellate advocacy.
Preferred:
+ Experience representing community associations or related entities.
+ Familiarity with governing documents of community associations, such as covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC& Rs).
+ Certification or membership in legal or industry organizations (e.g., CAI, ABA Construction Law Forum).
Compensation and Benefits
+ Base Salary: $120,000–$150,000+ commensurate with experience.
+ Bonus: Annual performance bonuses
+ 401(k): 4% Safe Harbor Match every pay period.
+ Time Off: 4 weeks of PTO (144 hours) plus personal days.
+ Work Schedule: Hybrid model, with in-office days required 2-3 days.
