Litigation Attorney
Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Litigation Attorney at a premier boutique law firm specializing in federal securities fraud, shareholder rights, M& A, and complex litigation for the investment management industry. In this role, you will be expected to utilize your skills in Briefing, Legal Research, Litigation, Motions, and Pleadings. This candidate must be able to commute into the West Orange, New Jersey or NYC office on a hybrid schedule. Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive legal research and gather relevant information for litigation • Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings and motions • Participate in briefings and provide insightful legal advice • Manage and drive forward litigation cases • Collaborate with team members on case strategy and preparation • Ensure all litigation activities comply with the existing laws and regulations • Monitor developments in the legal landscape to maintain up-to-date knowledge • Communicate effectively with clients, providing them with information and advice on legal matters • Handle multiple cases simultaneously, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and complexity. Requirements • Must possess a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school • Must be a member in good standing with the state bar • Proficient in drafting and analyzing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefings • Demonstrated expertise in litigation and court proceedings • Strong legal research skills and familiarity with legal databases • Excellent negotiation and communication skills • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines • High ethical standards and professional integrity • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Must have a client-oriented approach and excellent interpersonal skills.
