Description Our client, a well-established Insurance Defense Litigation firm, is seeking a Defense Litigation Attorney to support their growing caseload in insurance defense matters on a long-term contract basis. This is a fully remote position, but candidates must be licensed in California and have the ability to travel to Los Angeles or San Francisco if needed for trial. Key Responsibilities: + Handle all phases of litigation, including case strategy development, legal research, motion drafting, discovery, and trial preparation. + Draft motions, pleadings, and case evaluations in complex insurance defense matters. + Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admission. + Assist in taking and defending depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts, ensuring strategic case development. + Assist with pre-trial preparation, including case analysis, exhibit review, and witness preparation. + Provide litigation support to trial teams, including developing legal arguments, drafting trial briefs, and preparing key documentation. + Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and litigation teams to ensure efficient case progression. + Work efficiently to meet the firm’s 1900 billable hour requirement pace. Requirements Qualifications: + Must be licensed to practice law in California and in good standing. + Minimum of 3 years of insurance defense litigation experience. + Strong litigation skills, including motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation. + Experience managing complex defense-side cases for insurance carriers, corporations, or similar clients. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines and case demands. + Willingness to travel to Los Angeles or San Francisco for trial, if necessary. + Exclusively defense-side litigation experience required (candidates with recent plaintiff-side experience cannot be considered due to conflicts).
