Job Title: Litigation Docketing SpecialistLocation: Various Office Locations (Hybrid)Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:The Litigation Docketing Specialist will play a critical role in managing and maintaining the firm’s litigation docketing system. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely tracking of court deadlines, hearings, and filings for the litigation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of litigation procedures and experience working within a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:Docketing Management: Accurately calculate, enter, and monitor court deadlines, hearings, and filing dates in the firm’s docketing system.Deadline Tracking: Ensure attorneys and legal teams are aware of upcoming deadlines, providing proactive reminders.Litigation Support: Assist in managing court documents, including filing and service of documents across federal, state, and local courts.Compliance & Accuracy: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of court rules and procedures to ensure deadlines are compliant with court requirements.System Maintenance: Manage and maintain the docketing software, ensuring data integrity and compliance with firm protocols.Reporting: Generate and distribute regular reports to attorneys and staff regarding docket updates and upcoming deadlines.Collaboration: Work closely with litigation attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff to provide litigation support and ensure smooth case flow.
Qualifications:Experience: 3+ years of experience in litigation docketing, preferably in a large law firm setting.Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local court rules and litigation procedures.Technical Skills: Proficient in docketing software (e.g., CompuLaw, ProLaw, or similar) and legal case management systems.Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in tracking deadlines and entering data into the docketing system.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with legal teams.Time Management: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with electronic court filing (ECF) systems.Knowledge of litigation in multiple jurisdictions.
