Litigation Paralegal
Description Established and thriving defense firm in DTLA has an immediate opportunity for a stellar Litigation Paralegal to join their growing team! Litigation Paralegals at this firm work in a dynamic environment, this role involves handling a variety of legal matters, including premises liability, personal injury, and employment cases. This role will require you to work closely with attorneys and secretaries, performing critical tasks to support our legal operations. We have placed many paralegals and attorneys with this firm who are happy! This Litigation Paralegal role is 4 days in office, 1-day WFH. Responsibilities: • Aid in litigation as a paralegal, handling sensitive cases including those related to sexual harassment. • Propose and respond to discovery in a timely and effective manner. • Schedule and coordinate depositions as necessary. • Utilize software such as Adobe and Amicus for various case-related tasks. • Establish communications with doctors for setting up Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs). • Prepare for trials by creating trial notebooks, witness lists, and jury instructions. • Summarize medical and school records in a clear and concise manner. • Prepare Subpoenas and ensure they are served correctly. • Manage billing functions effectively, ensuring all billables are properly recorded and updated. • Utilize skills in Adobe Acrobat, Case Management Software, LexisNexis, Management System, Microsoft Excel, and Litigation ParaLegal for various tasks and responsibilities.
