Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in various tasks, including fact investigation, legal research, document preparation, database management, case docketing, and overall client service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with fact investigation, legal research, and document preparation/production.Develop technical proficiency in managing databases, conducting electronic research, and maintaining project files.Organize and manage case files, delegating tasks to Paralegal Assistants as needed.Prepare materials and provide support for depositions, hearings, and trials, including pre-trial preparation and attendance.Draft pleadings, discovery documents, and coordinate the filing and service of legal documents.Collect and summarize medical and other records as required.Assist with calendaring, docketing, and case tracking.Attend and contribute to internal Continuing Legal Education (CLE) sessions.Anticipate attorney needs and provide overall support to ensure smooth case progression.Serve as a mentor to junior paralegals and Paralegal Assistants.Engage with clients as necessary, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.Stay current on industry developments and best practices.Meet an annual billable hour target of 1500.Perform other tasks as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
At least 4 years of relevant experience in litigation.Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.Significant legal experience may be considered in lieu of formal education, based on discretion of the SBU Leader.Desired Qualifications:
Experience in Probate, Trust, and Estate litigation is a plus.Proficient in Relativity and other litigation support tools.Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing demands.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and high-quality work.Professional demeanor and appearance, with the ability to build strong client relationships.Ability to exercise sound judgment, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.High level of integrity and professionalism.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.Personal Attributes:
