What you will be doing
We’re looking for a self-starter with strong organizational skills and a passion for problem-solving. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with legal technology, eDiscovery tools, and matter management systems. As a Litigation Paralegal I, you’ll be at the heart of our litigation management efforts, ensuring that our legal team stays organized, informed, and ahead of critical deadlines. You will collaborate with internal clients, outside counsel, and law enforcement, building relationships while sharpening your legal acumen. Main responsibilities
Review and transmittal of service of process and Westlaw court alerts Calendaring deadlines promptly into team Litigation Calendar Creating matters in matter management system, including adding law firms and budgets to existing matters Assisting with litigation management by developing and maintaining matter management dashboards, calendars, metrics, and reports, and tracking case status Preparing correspondence for in-house Litigation Counsel to tender regulatory or indemnified matters; following up with recipients on acceptance of tender and maintaining cordial business relations Coordinating with business clients, third parties, and law enforcement to respond to subpoenas and third-party discovery requests Drafting subpoena responses, objection letters, and preparing documents for production with Bates-numbering and redactions if needed Assisting with discovery and document requests, including initial fact investigation, partnering with business clients in tracking down relevant data, documents and knowledge coordinating deposition witness interviews, and responding to discovery Managing document collections, including working with in-house and/or outside counsel to prepare document productions Working with law firms and Legal Operations Team on e-billing issues Working collegially and supportively with internal clients and other members of the legal department regarding legal and litigation risks arising from the company’s business
E-Discovery
Preparing legal holds and working with attorneys to identify the proper records custodians Drafting third-party legal holds for attorney review Coordinating with custodians to identify relevant documents and storage repositories in response to discovery and information requests Liaising with eDiscovery specialists to issue litigation holds and custodian questionnaires, conduct witness interviews, and collect custodial documents Partnering with the eDiscovery team to request the processing of records responsive to document requests for your review in document review portals
The salary range is $54,600 to $70,980 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include, medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay/Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually) bereavement pay and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility).
What we are searching for
Paralegal studies certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited program is preferred, but not required if candidate has sufficient experience Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications Familiarity with Service of Process, circulating mail, and deadlines Comfortable using, and learning how to use, legal technology, databases, and electronically stored information Working knowledge of the eDiscovery EDRM lifecycle or willingness to learn Great intellectual curiosity and a desire to invest time and energy into learning and growing as a subject matter expert in eDiscovery. Able to work autonomously, multi-task, and prioritize with minimal supervision Able to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic Strong writing and presentation skills Ability to uphold the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality Positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior grocery retail, retail, pharmacy, and/or in-house legal experience is a plus Experience with Microsoft BI, Tableau, Legal Tracker or other case management platforms Experience with Relativity or other document review platforms Experience with Exterro or other legal hold and document collection applications
