Job Summary:
Very down to earth family of tree (two adults and one teenager) who are passionate about healthy food, are looking for a child friendly family chef to help facilitate their lives. This isn’t a demanding role for a competent chef but there will be plenty of opportunity for you to bring variety to daily meals and flex your skills with ad hoc dinner parties. Separate accommodation provided.
Job specification:
As the family chef you will maintain sole responsibility of all provisioning and menu planning for mealtimes The focus will be on evening meals however the principals are in residence most of the time so lunches will also be required Ad hoc dinner parties where the expectations around presentation will be greater The family are passionate about using high-quality, fresh ingredients being cooked in healthy ways Day to day meals will be more of a family style and culinary preferences extend as far as, modern British, European, Middle Eastern & Ottolenghi style They are very open to vegetarian dishes and reducing their red meat consumption One member of the family (potentially two) is lactose intolerant Their son is a very independent 15-year-old, the ideal candidate would be open being a presence in the home when the family are away (approximately twice a month for short periods). There will be occasions where their son won’t travel with them, in which case there will be the need for you to ensure that he is fed in their absence and leaves/returns from school on time. Must have proven experience working as a chef within private households Capable of cooking a variety of cuisines including the regular use of a variety of vegetables and adapting to dietary requirements Forthcoming with menu ideas for the family with the aim of providing a varied healthy diet Confident cooking to dinner party standard when called upon Must be child friendly with a willingness to take a position of being the responsible adult in the home when the principals are away for short periodsAccommodation:
