Live In Professional Foster Parent

We are looking for a Live In Professional Foster Parent to provide supervision, mentorship and therapeutic, individualized services to clients living in the Treatment Foster Family Home who exhibit moderate emotional, social and/or behavioral issues, yet do not require a group home or residential setting. As a Foster Parent, you will play a critical role in working with youth and their families to promote health, change, and healing.

Required Education and Licensure:

High School diploma or GED required Minimum 21 years of age Valid Illinois driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and a reliable and safe form of transportation. must meet the state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements. With agency support, must obtain and maintain foster care licensure within the State of Illinois, including DCFS’ PRIDE training. Must willingly reside in the Treatment Foster Family Home as a primary residence, either as a single person or with one adult significant other that also meets agency and state clearance requirements. No other persons or dependents of the Treatment Foster Family Home houseparent will be allowed to reside in the home on a temporary or permanent basis. A successful criminal record background check is required for any adult significant other who will also reside in the Treatment Foster Family Home. Must be willing to be exclusively employed as a Treatment Foster Family Home houseparent. Employment elsewhere on either a part-time, full-time, temporary, or permanent basis is not allowed.

Nice to Have:

Two years of experience working with troubled/specialized children and/or adolescents.

Responsibilities:

Providing mentorship and supervision of clients and coordinate services as needed, to cultivate a therapeutic relationship with each client. Creating a partnership with each client’s designated family to assist in the process of treatment intervention that supports the client’s achievement of his permanency goal. Participating as a member of the interdisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and therapeutic services. Ensuring completion of all required documentation and record-keeping, as required by licensing and by Nexus-Onarga Family Healing, the state and any other regulatory agency’s standards and expectations. Ensuring the client’s safety and collaborate with treatment team to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean, and therapeutic.

Schedule & Salary:

Schedule:  Full-Time, Live-in Foster Parent position with personal time during weekday school hours when youth are in class Salary Range: Starting at $44,000-$45,000 annually 

Physical Demands:

Must be able to assist staff in proper physical interventions and restraining of residents.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+ pounds with assistance Must be able to twist, bend, stretch and move with adequate mobility to execute the daily activities within the treatment Foster Family care home.
