SummaryThe overall purpose of the position is to pick up Racks and Boxes of Eggs from designated Breeder farms, on a routine schedule, while replacing supplies on the farms. Then deliver the eggs to the warehouse or hatchery as directed.
Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsures timely and accurate delivery of eggs according to dispatcher scheduling.
Performs a pre-trip truck inspection according to a DOT sheet, reporting any deficiencies to proper fleet mechanics.
Ensures accurate recordkeeping of fuel purchases, trip tickets, daily logs and time sheets.
High School or equivalent
Experience Requirements2 years experience. Reading, writing and math skills. Class A Commercial driver's license required.
Experience Preferred Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsExposed to both seasonal weather and climate controlled conditions. Ability to climb truck in the loading areas; use #5 sledgehammer. Operate loading and delivery devices. Operate a standard manual truck for up to 10 hours. Operate a forklift. Exposed to significant amount of air borne dust. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
