We are recruiting for an important role in our Whenby site
Reporting to the UK Livestock Manager, you will be responsible for providing the highest levels of care and husbandry to some of the most valuable beef and dairy bulls in the global artificial insemination industry. Your working hours will be 6am until 2pm
NOTE - For biosecurity reasons you must be livestock-free
After you pass your probation you will be eligible to live in one of our properties
You Will Daily activities such as feeding/beddingGenetics collection from some of the world’s highest value bullsClipping/washing bulls for regular photographing and classification visitsRegular health care/foot trimmingRoutine health testing of bulls to ensure the health and wellbeing of all livestock within the stud, ensuring early detection and treatmentSupport the movement of bulls into and out of the studManage isolation facilities for bulls entering the studEnsure that records are kept up to dateSupport the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment used within the studEnsure all Health and Safety protocols are adhered to as to ensure a safe working environmentAdvocate biosecurity principles and ensure all visitors on site adhere to the company rulesLiaise with other Genus staff throughout the business as the role requires Requirements Previous experience of livestock managementBe livestock-free and aware of biosecurity principlesHave an interest in and an enthusiasm for the industryPossess excellent communication, organisation and prioritisation skillsIT skills would be advantageous Business OverviewABS - is the world-leading provider of bovine genetics, reproductive services, technologies and udder care products.
