Load Planner
Duties:
+ Plan customer routed freight to maximize the capacity of each truck and driver.
+ Broker inbound freight using DAT and other tools.
+ Negotiate rates with brokers to best meet company rate needs.
+ Plan trucks in accordance with company Deadhead guidelines.
+ Understand the transportation market and rates.
+ Quote spot market loads available from customers.
+ Ensure real-time and accurate data entry of all orders in the operating system.
+ Have knowledge of temp control freight, commodities, and rates.
+ Ensure consistent communication and flow of information concerning delivery-related issues.
+ Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of a fast-paced team.
+ Maintain a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with upset customers and team members.
+ Ensure fair and consistent application of and adherence to company policies.
+ Have an intermediate level of understanding of United States geography for efficient load scheduling.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
+ 1+ year of load planning experience
+ Excellent communication and customer service skills
+ Understanding of logistics, transportation and freight brokering
+ Excellent attention to detail
+ Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00
