Job Summary
Supervises the team responsible for loading/unloading and ensuring proper product handling, safety, compliance, and efficient workflows. Ensures the safe and timely delivery of turkeys to market. Monitors workflows and resolves any issues that may arise during the loading process. Responsible for all truck drivers while on farm premises.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities
• Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of entry level individual contributors.
• Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful completion of tasks.
• Participates in HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc.
• Enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures team understands and follows all safety and biosecurity policies and procedures, including animal care and well-being practices.
• Ensures proper handling of birds to ensure high grade quality of birds.
• Ensures team’s understanding of and compliance with all relevant regulatory guidelines (i.e., USDA, OSHA, DOL, EEOC, etc.).
• Conducts routine safety and quality checks providing on-the-job coaching as needed.
• Responsible for the operation of various farm machinery to set up loader in turkey house.
• Responsible for maintaining all loading equipment in good working condition.
• Maintains or completes accurate documentation, including farm condition documentation and loading records.
• Gathers, reviews, and/or reports on metrics, such as Turkey Sales report, Dead on Arrival counts, calculation of mortality charts, etc.

• Proficient in safety best practices, policies, and standards
• Good leadership skills with the ability to coach, guide, support, and motivate a team
• Solid communication skills with the ability to effectively interact at all levels
• Ability to interpret and explain a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Basic computer and math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables
• Good time-management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities
• Skilled at producing accurate reporting and documentation
• Ability to work varying shifts which may include overnight or 6 days

Education & Experience
• 4+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
• 1+ year of leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Requires Commercial Driver’s license and relevant DOT medical certificate
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
• Poultry farm experience
Physical Demands
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate equipment, computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally climb.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment
• Work will be performed in a variety of conditions. Occasionally in a climate-controlled office environment(s) and primarily in a farm environment including working outdoors in seasonal conditions with live animals and at times in dusty environments. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the farm environment. This individual may be working around sick or diseased animals where additional precautions may need to be taken.
• The noise level of the office and farm environment is usually moderate. Showering in and out of farm locations may be required.
