Job Description:

The Loan Closer III is responsible for disbursing payoffs and loan proceeds for Home Equity Loans and Line of Credits.

The Loan Closer III provides support to Consumer and Mortgage Loan Processing through document preparation as it pertains to loan closings. The job works with closing agents to ensure necessary information is provided to complete the loan closing package. The Loan Closer III performs quality reviews and completes quality control analysis.

Depth & Scope:

Works on an independent basis with little supervisionReceives assistance from manager with difficult questions and situationsProvides guidance to less experienced ClosersPrepares legal, regulatory and custom closing documentation if applicable within established Company policies and procedures and applicable legal and regulatory guidelinesReviews loan documentation prior to sending documents to closing agents to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance to state and federal lending regulations, consulting with more experienced staff as necessary to clarify or interpret regulationsWorks with closing agents to ensure necessary information is provided to complete loan closing packages while maintaining positive business relationshipsCompletes quality control analysis of standard and nonstandard loan documentation, ensures data integrity and performs various functions related to the workgroup to avert losses and reduce undue riskActs as mentor and resource to Loan Closer I and Loan Closer IIProvides training to Loan Closer I and Loan Closer IIMay assist Loan Closer Team LeadFurnishes on-site training to new Retail Loan Closers in addition to reinforcement trainingMay manage the daily workflow of files throughout the day to ensure completion by Closers to meet the appropriate timeframe for the scheduled closingAnswers phones to assist internal and external customers


Education & Experience:

Associates Degree and/or Bachelors degreeMortgage Operations - 3-5 Years loan documentation experienceConsumer Operations 1-2 years loan documentation experienceStrong working knowledge of applicable lending practicesAdvanced understanding and ability to apply processing procedures and processesExtremely detail orientated with ability to audit and correct procedural errorsAbility to maintain positive business relationships with partners, customers and agentsStrong ability to handle heavy workload and meet stringent deadlinesAbility to interact effectively with internal customers from various departmentsStrong working knowledge of Bank's loan productsExcellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to interact effectively with all customers, both internal and externalExcellent PC skillsExcellent customer service skillsAvailability to work a variable schedule which may include nights and/or weekends
