Loan Documentation Specialist
About The Role POSITION SUMMARY: The Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for reviewing loan applications, credit approvals and other source documents to produce loan documents for commercial and consumer loans. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITES AND DUTIES: Responsible for accurate and timely creation of Commercial and Consumer Loan Documentation. Communicates missing items effectively to loan staff. Keeps apprised of software changes and additional functionality enhancements. Review Credit Authorization for proper approval and to discern type of loan. Review loan codes to determine accurate reporting. Review supporting documentation to determine we are in receipt of all required information to include compliance with relevant loan regulations. Prepare required loan documents for commercial and consumer loans using LaserPro software. Deliver loan documents to lenders and processors for closing. Determine HMDA/CRA status for new, renewed, or refinanced loans for accurate reporting purposes. Interact with Lending staff to provide expertise with documenting and perfecting collateral. Interact with other team members in the department to share information and to ensure an efficient and streamlined process of the workflow. Update and maintain data in loan operating systems as needed Assign loan numbers for new loan accounts. Performs additional duties including, but not limited to the following: indexing and cataloging of all documentation associated with loans into the Bank’s Director documentation imaging software, maintaining a consistent order. Provides assistance to Loan Staff in the location of documents as needed. . Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. POSITION CONTACT: Daily contact with Loan Processor Supervisor, Loan Processors and other administrative and executive staff About You EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS: High School diploma required A minimum of 2 years banking experience preferred Proficient knowledge of LaserPro document generation software preferred. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel required . Knowledge of Jack Henry Silverlake/Xperience and Laser Pro platforms preferred. Ability to apply logical or critical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, strong typing, word processing and 10-key skills. Ability to create spreadsheets, write formulas, and manipulate data required Capable of prioritizing and managing several projects at a time to meet expected deadlines with minimum amount of direction Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to relate to others and relay information in a clear, precise manner Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities, including follow-through to ensure timely completion Motivation to anticipate future needs of internal customers and management of Director WORK ENVIRONMENT: Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
