Loan Officer Assistant
Must be in OR, WA, ID or CO. Position Summary : The Loan Officer Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to Loan Officers and Business Leaders. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities : + Communicate and build good rapport with borrowers/clients, assisting them with resolving issues and answering questions that help build relationships. + Communicate contact information and expectations with borrower. + Communicate effectively and quickly to all parties, both internally and externally, about timelines and expectations to ensure all loans close on time. + Assist Loan Consultant with tasks related to promoting loan products to clients and referral partners. + Review loans to identify outstanding items or questions that could cause closing delays. Communicate with borrowers both orally and in writing of items needed to ensure timely loan closing. + Discusses pricing and lock of loan and other conditions dictated by Loan Consultant. Ensuring borrowers understand what is required. + Maintain knowledge of company products, policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements. + Work with Loan Consultant to run AUS preapprovals as requested. + Analyze and calculate income based on borrower(s) paystubs, W2’s, personal tax returns, and business tax returns. + Review and analyze purchase contracts + Work with vendors to assist in improving borrower credit when necessary. + Set up loan files for Loan Officers and verify all fees listed on Loan Estimate from third party vendors such as Escrow, Title, Credit, and Appraisal are correct. + Request disclosures to be reviewed and sent to borrower from WVBK compliance department. + Ensure loan applications are complete and accurate prior to submission to processing. + Initiate all order outs such as ordering appraisal, flood, credit supplements, verifications of employment, etc. Ensure all required reports are returned promptly and accurately. + Ensure that all loan documentation is uploaded and managed in LOS system. + Assist Loan Officers and Loan Processors in gathering approval conditions from borrowers and third-party vendors. + Communicate effectively and quickly to all parties, both internally and externally, about timelines and expectations to ensure all loans close on time. + Track assigned loans through the entire loan process. + Deliver an extraordinary client experience by exceeding expectations and providing excellent customer service. + Foster a positive and proactive work environment for all team members. + Comply with and follow all applicable policies and procedures as well as governing laws and regulations. This includes but is not limited to: Performing all assigned duties under the WVBK compliance programs and related laws and regulations. Successfully completing all mandatory compliance training and any other laws and regulations as assigned in a timely manner. + Perform any additional duties, activities or projects assigned by management. Education and Experience : + 2-4 years of work experience in residential mortgage lending. + Must obtain or transfer NMLS license on first day of employment. + Experience reviewing and interpreting consumer credit reports and income documentation. + High School Diploma or equivalent. Mental and Physical Effort : Decision making normally involves the ability to apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures to the work. Guidance and direction may be available. lifting equipment or files of 1-10 pounds on a regular basis, lifting equipment or boxes of 10-25 pounds on an occasion. Sits or stands for long periods of time working at a computer and typing. Uses hands to handle controls or feel objects, tools or controls. Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media. Working Conditions : Works in a customer facing position in an office environment with minimal workplace hazards and low to moderate levels of noise. May deal with customers or visitors to the workplace who may be upset or pose challenges. Works during the day and during the week, some positions may require working on weekends.
