SUMMARY OF THE JOB : Reporting to the Board of Directors, Credit Risk Committee and Chief Credit Risk Officer, the incumbent is responsible for providing management and the Credit Risk Committee with objective and timely data on loan portfolio quality and recommendations for addressing identified credit weaknesses. This is completed via an independent quality review of the Bank's commercial loan portfolios and lending practices to assist in controlling credit risk. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Loan Review Manager (SVP Officer Title) establishes and maintains an independent loan review system that monitors and analyzes composition of the Bank's commercial loan portfolio to identify any deterioration of loan quality, potential problem loans, exceptions to loan policy, concentrations of credit, and documentary deficiencies ensuring front-line business units adhere to all applicable credit policies, procedures, and processes including regulatory requirements. Individual credit file reviews are completed on a risk-based sampling of commercial loans in aggregate of $1,000,000 and selected loans under $1,000,000 on an 18–21-month cycle. Provide credit risk management exception findings. Recommends practices and procedures to address findings. Present loan review findings (with management’s response) of commercial lines to Directors’ Credit Risk Committee. The Loan Review Manager oversees the risk-rating system, evaluating risk grades to insure it is both accurate, current and effectuated on the Core loan servicing system. Regulates the risk ratings if credit quality warrants. Prepares and submits recommendations to Chief Credit Risk Officer for revisions and adjustments to lending policy and procedures. Prepares and submits quarterly update (trends) and assessment report of the commercial portfolio to the Directors' Credit Risk Committees and annual Loan Review Policy to the Board of Directors. Participates in Credit and Directors' Credit Risk Committee meetings presenting information on loan portfolio. Provides external auditors and examiners with reports of loan review findings and risk rating migration controls. Loan Review 1.Performs on-going review of commercial loan portfolio to identify potential credit problems, exceptions to policy, and other documentation deficiencies. Risk Ratings 2.Recommends adjustments to risk ratings and changes to loan policy and procedures when loan conditions warrant. Oversight of Risk Rating Assessment System. Reporting 3.Prepares complete reports of loan portfolio composition which accurately reflect loan portfolio quality. Prepare quarterly trend report of commercial portfolio via Update & Assessment Report. SupportCCRO with Reg O reporting. Committee Participation 4. Participates in and presents findings to Loan and Audit Committees which accurately summarize loan review findings. Attend Credit Risk Committee and Special Asset meetings and other meetings as required by the CCRO. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Oversight monthly monitoring: Past dues, Resort Audits, Construction loans. Resource to business lines and loans servicing for policy compliance. Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with supported front-line business units providing technical guidance related to credit policies, procedures, processes, or methods. Minimum knowledge/skills: + Bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant area of study or equivalent work experience. + 7 to 10 years of related work experience + Knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, commercial loan documentation and experience with legal and regulatory compliance required. + Prior experience in credit analyses and or lend required + Prior loan review experience required.
