Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity in the mortgage industry, located in Meriden, Connecticut. We are looking for a Loan Servicing - Support Specialist to join our team. This role involves processing and servicing of loans, maintaining accurate system records, and managing customer communication. Responsibilities: • Accurately process loan payments, advances, and adjustments • Maintain and update loan documentation for completeness and accuracy • Efficiently and accurately handle customer inquiries, including generation of loan payoff letters • Manage and execute loan maintenance tasks such as modifications, extensions, and required changes in core processing system • Investigate and resolve issues related to missing or misapplied loan payments • Respond to and correct credit reporting disputes and errors • Prepare escrow payments for association dues, property taxes, and insurance • Ensure accurate system records are maintained at all times. Requirements • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to construct and interpret complex spreadsheets. • Strong data entry skills, with a focus on accuracy and speed. • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements. • Have prior experience in a financial institution or mortgage company. • Familiarity with loan servicing processes and procedures. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning abilities. • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to loan servicing. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on available information.
