Loan Servicing - Support
Description Join our team in Wallingford, Connecticut as a Loan Servicing Support Specialist in the mortgage services industry. This full-time role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience handling loan servicing tasks, providing high levels of accuracy and efficiency. This position supports the loan servicing team in maintaining customer satisfaction and compliance while ensuring smooth operations of all servicing processes. Key Responsibilities: + Account Maintenance: Update and maintain borrower loan accounts, including changes to payment plans, account details, and other adjustments as necessary. + Payment Processing: Handle incoming payments, apply payments to accounts, and reconcile balances monthly. + Customer Communication: Assist borrowers with inquiries via phone and email regarding payment schedules, billing, and account updates. + Documentation: Manage loan servicing documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and completeness. + Tracking and Reporting: Prepare periodic loan reports for internal use and external stakeholders, such as portfolio managers or auditors. + Collections Support: Process delinquent loans and provide follow-up for overdue accounts by coordinating with the collections team. + Compliance Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with state and federal mortgage servicing regulations to ensure all servicing tasks adhere to lending guidelines. + Team Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with underwriting, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless servicing processes. Requirements Qualifications and Skills Required: + Education: + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred. + Experience: + 1–2 years of experience in loan servicing, mortgage processing, or financial services. + Familiarity with loan systems such as Encompass, Mortgage Servicing Platforms (MSPs), or similar software preferred. + Technical Skills: + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required. + Additional knowledge of accounting or loan servicing software is a plus. + Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and accuracy skills to handle financial data and loan documentation. + Communication Skills: + Excellent verbal and written communication for working with borrowers, lenders, and internal teams in a professional manner. + Customer Service Mindset: Experience assisting and addressing borrower concerns with empathy and efficiency. + Problem-Solving Ability: Capability to analyze issues with accounts and independently propose solutions.
