Job Description:
The Loan Underwriting Manager I supervises a team of Underwriters. The Loan Underwriting Manager I oversees daily underwriting activities, including workflow, turnaround, productivity, escalations and quality monitoring.
Depth & Scope:
Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as requiredSupervises daily operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency of workflow and staffEnsures 48 hour turn time SLA is metManages employees in lower complexity lanesHelps with the selection process, orientation, compensation decisions and performance reviews of staff membersDemonstrates sound judgment conveying departmental policies and proceduresConducts staff meetings and individual one on one monthly meetings with underwritersUnderwrites and decisions loans that are escalated by their team.
