The Opportunity

As a Local Chapter Lead of Quality Assurance you will be responsible to ensure we are using agile QA frameworks, processes, tools and technologies to maximize test efficiency and delivery pipelines. The lead will partner with the Global Chapter Lead and other chapter leads across ICCs to ensure the squads are resourced with the right skills and expertise required to achieve their mission. The Local Chapter Lead of Quality Assurance will provide continuous support to refine our QA and testing principles, processes, and methodologies with strong focus on test automation and implementation of CI/CD pipelines.

The chapter lead guide individuals to build the appropriate skills and capabilities needed to operate in an environment that embraces agile principles and practices. He is  focused on creating high performing teams across the product and technology enablement organizations.

Responsibilities

Chapter Development

Provide the vision and lead the local Quality Assurance Chapter resource pool capabilities.Define different capabilities with a clear and harmonized set of roles and skills per individual.Support Chapter members in their career progression.Lead the Chapter as an experienced practitioner and be a role model to the members.Manage escalations, risks and issues related to the QA services delivered by the Agile teams.Ensure that engineering, design and testing standards and practices comply with Global IT governance and architectural standards while performing in a heavily regulated environment.Set up interaction and knowledge sharing processes among Chapter employees (Communities of Practice).Resolve organizational issues of keeping the Chapter members at work and meeting product demand.

Talent Development

Set targets for development and growth and complete final assessment of Chapter employees in professional development, in alignment with the Global Chapter Lead and the Head of ICC.Recruit top talent and onboard candidates, working with HR to define roles and conduct interviews.Lead talent development and retention initiatives, including provisioning of training, sharing of best practices, and initiatives to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Resource Allocation and Staffing

Coordinate with other chapter leads to staff Chapter members on Agile teams.Assess and manage capacity conflicts of QA staff between the different squads.Assess and balance the needs of the squads with people development goals.

Performance Evaluations

Oversee collection of formative and evaluative feedback for each Chapter member from their network of professional connections.Oversee delivery of performance evaluations for Chapter members, factoring in individual contributions and collective team performance.

Skills and Qualifications

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

Expert knowledge of software testing, validation, quality improvement, quality process, quality assurance methodologies, and best practices.Experience of creating test automation frameworks.Experience in designing and implementing integration, security, performance, resilience or operational tests.

Leadership

Strategic thinking and decision making.Experience with leading teams of 20+ people.Demonstrated success in leading IT and technical teams, related to Agile delivery.

Decision-making and Autonomy

Technically strong with ability to educate and support Agile product development teams with understanding of agile software testing principles and frameworks.Ability to lead effectively and work concurrently across multiple priorities in a goal-oriented, timeline-driven, and remotely managed work environment.

Establishes credibility and earns trust within the country, abroad and across multiple levels of stakeholders. Able to facilitate alignment without compromising principles.

Innovation

Challenges the status quo to drive a greater value and growth for the business.Works on simplification, innovation and continuous improvement activities while ensuring business continuity and minimal business disruptions.

Complexity

Operating in an IT/data technology complex and heavily regulated environment.Demonstrates capability to successfully collaborate in a matrix organization and manage a complex cross functional environment driving the execution in the IT.

   EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

Primary location to be located onsite within the ICC in Bratislava.10+ years of experience in leading, managing a team of software QA engineers and testers.Required: Bachelor’s degree in related technical field.Have worked with one or more of the following testing tools: qTest, Tosca, VERA, BrowserStack, OctoPerf.Knowledge and experience with Jira and Confluence.Passionate about change and continuous improvement; willing to challenge status quo and dissent when needed, and not afraid to point out areas of development.Excellent leadership skills and abilities, planning, effecting change, building and leading technology teams, and resource management; a track record of success in developing technology leaders and staff.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal English skills with ability to present ideas in a business and user-friendly language.Demonstrable knowledge in agile software testing practices.ISTQB, Scaled Agile Framework or other Agile certifications a plus.Desirable: Ability to communicate in Slovak language.

Salary

As a motivated employee, you should be compensated appropriately. The minimum salary for this position is € 4450 per month (full time), but your final remuneration package may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.
