Cisco is Seeking a Remote Senior Technical Support Engineer! **Job Title** : Senior Technical Support Engineer - SONiC Specialist **Pay Rate** : $100 per Hour **Location** : US Remote **Timezone** : 24x5 Support, with overtime as needed **Job Type** : Full-Time **Duration: 2Yrs** **Department** : Technical Assistance Center (TAC) **About the Role** Cisco's Technical Assistance Center (TAC) is seeking a **Senior Technical Support Engineer** with expertise in SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud). This role demands deep knowledge of network architectures and protocols for enterprise data centers, large web-scale content providers, and cloud hosting networks. An understanding of AI infrastructure networks—including RDMA—and software infrastructure components like SAI, BSP, and SDK is essential. This collaborative position supports TAC engineers through escalation and triage, working closely with Cisco engineering teams. **Key Responsibilities** + Provide expert-level triage and escalation support to frontline TAC engineers. + Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed networks involving SONiC, Cisco Nexus, and Cisco IOS-XR. + Replicate customer issues in a lab setting to identify root causes and resolutions. + Share knowledge through documentation, chalk talks, and training sessions. + Act as a subject matter expert on SONiC and related network architectures/protocols. + Develop and deliver advanced technical training for TAC engineers. + Collaborate with engineering and product teams to resolve intricate technical issues. **Networking Protocols Expertise** + Extensive experience with protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, and Segment Routing. + Familiarity with AI-specific protocols, including RDMA. + Proficiency in Linux and containerization technologies, specifically Docker. + In-depth knowledge of technologies used in enterprise data centers and cloud environments. **Minimum Qualifications** + **Education** : BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field (MS preferred). + **Experience** : + 3–5 years of working knowledge with SONiC in production environments. + 10+ years in the computer networking field. 1. Proven ability to perform Level 3 support. 2. Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed networks and various Network Operating Systems. **Preferred Qualifications** 3. Expertise in AI infrastructure networks and related protocols, including RDMA. 4. Deep knowledge of software infrastructure components like SAI, BSP, and SDK. 5. Experience in large web-scale content providers or cloud hosting networks. 6.
