**Entergy has entered into an agreement to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business to Bernhard Capital Partners.

The sale is expected to close in approximately the third quarter of 2025.

Entergy has no planned reduction in workforce as a result of this sale, and intends to operate the business as usual prior to the sale.

Job Summary/Purpose

Locate and mark all Gas facilities involved with underground excavation as part of compliance required by the DOT/OPS Regulations and State Laws. Responsible for the monitoring, inspection and surveillance of outside contractors performing excavation work in order to protect the integrity of Entergy's Gas underground distribution facilities as stated in company procedures at the direction of our regulators.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Be a Safety Champion, obey all safe work procedures, perform daily Hazard Assessments, maintain vehicle inspections, attend all daily / monthly safety meetings and report any Near Misses. Attend & complete all required Safety Mandated training and Operators Qualification training. Enforce the Damage Prevention Program OP-000-1. Assist other departments within Gas Operations when necessary with locating gas facilities and Gas Service activities.

Maintain GIS record updating and knowledge of retaining record information.

Locate and mark all gas facilities clearly and accurately for area of excavation as described in the La. One Call ticket and maintain markings for any updated requests made by La. One Call or outside contractors.

Document all work performed as required and must use proper forms (La. One Call Ticket, Corrosion, Boring, Damage Investigation) for record retention.

Monitor contractor activities in order to make sure markings are clear and visible when crossing our facilities with another utility or other facilities being put in the ground in close proximity to our main (driving steel sheeting, pilings, pipe bursting and other possible disruptions to soil conditions). Develop and maintain a strong positive professions relationship with all contractors to ensure proper notification of damaged facilities. Evaluate contractor damages to gas facilities when at job site and coordinate necessary emergency response according to procedures for Abnormal Operating Conditions.

Respond to calls from contractors to identify lines exposed during excavation.? Examine pipe coatings and conditions when exposed during excavation work. Report any conflicts with gas facilities that may arise during excavation to be initiated and coordinated through Gas Engineering and Maintenance. Develop and maintain a strong positive professions relationship with all contractors to ensure proper notification of damaged facilities. Evaluate contractor damages to gas facilities when at job site and coordinate necessary emergency response according to procedures for Abnormal Operating Conditions. Assist other departments within Gas Operations when necessary with locating gas facilities and Gas Service activities.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and small power tools. Ability to communicate well with customers, city inspectors, police and fire department officials. Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle per highway DOT regulations. Ability to lift 100 lbs. Good interpersonal skills along with good written and oral communication skills. Ability to interpret construction drawings to locate underground facilities. Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities. Ability to work well under pressure. Self-motivated and dependable team player. Familiar with local plumbing code. Knowledge of Entergy's MDT application. Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards. Ability to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assets. Ability to meet the public in a pleasant and tactful manner and understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service. Must have a demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base. Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement. Desired: Knowledge of gas distribution system; Working knowledge of the AM/FM / GIS graphical program; Working knowledge of the DIS program; Knowledgeable in MS Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook); Knowledge of Entergy's Customer Service policies; Familiar with service territory area.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position

D.O.T. Office of Pipeline Safety operator qualification as it pertains to gas service work. Valid driver's license.
