The UIC Science Lodging Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to oversee the UIC lodging facilities at the NARL. UIC Science manages two mancamp style dormitories and a house used primarily for family lodging. Each facility has common use kitchens, bathrooms, and lounge areas. The Lodging Coordinator will work with housekeeping staff to ensure facilities are cleaned regularly, will make sure rooms are ready for client arrivals, and will be responsive to client needs with lodging.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

 

Responsible to identify and write supply lists for residential supplies and provide security and inventory control.
• Coordinate housekeeping and janitorial duties
• Attention to detail and accuracy required for complex administrative tasks.
• Document and address client questions, concerns, and recommendations regarding lodging facilities.
• Orientation assistance for incoming or outgoing researchers as requested, receive and direct visitors and clients
• Assist with and operate online reservation system
• Ability to create excel, word or pdf documents to assist with tracking or record keeping.
• Assist housekeepers with time keeping
• Coordinate basic maintenance needs of lodging facilities

• Ability to practice safe working standards.
• Other duties assigned.

 

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

• It is essential that the Lodging Coordinator has the ability to work well with people, and has demonstrated strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Extensive software skills are required, as well as Internet research abilities.
• Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work load are primary duties.
• Ability to work methodically and independently
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to handle high work load during busy months
• Ability to handle high stress loads

Qualifications

Required Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent
• administrative experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.customer service experience

Valid driver’s license is required


Experience in the Logistics Field

 

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to use standard office equipment.
• Must be able to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Sitting at a computer for long periods of time.
