Weyerhaeuser’s Montana Wood Products is currently looking to fill a Log Yard/Chipper Clean Up position at our Columbia Falls Medium Density Fiberboard (MD) facility.

Key Functions

Keep all areas of the log yard chipper area clean and free of hazardsBlow down machinery and workstations, empty dumpsters, and pick up debris on catwalks and walking areas Operate a forklift, front end loader, bobcat or various other types of equipment for cleanup purposes as necessaryRelieve and fill in for employees on breaks, temporary absences, vacation or sick leave at the debarker/chipperMaintain production flow of log through the chipper by responding to jam ups Identify potential problems by monitoring equipment

Education Certifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in production strongly preferred Experience in the MDF and/or Wood Products industry preferred

Specific Skills:

Self-starter with the ability to work without direct supervision Ability to work closely with supervisors, and all others in the department; be a team player/leader; good verbal and written communication skills; and demonstrate positive attitude Knowledge of lockout proceduresDemonstrate good performance, safety and attendance records Willingness to work any shift, work overtime and weekends and rotate between jobs; as well as perform any job as specified by supervisor A sense of urgency in terms of maximizing production, and minimizing downtime is necessary in this type of manufacturing environment Tasks performed involve working with equipment and material that require familiarity with formal safety procedures and the following of these procedures in order to maintain the safety of the work environment Candidates must have the ability to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions and have good hand eye coordination.

Physical Skills:

The job of Clean Up is a Heavy-Duty job. Heavy Duty involves exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20-50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds continuously to move objects. Essential duties included but are not limited to walking, standing, lifting, bending, twisting and reaching
