Seeking a full-time Journeyman/Master Electrician in support of LOGCAP V. Join our team and grow with us as we provide best in-class services that help clients solve their most complex challenges. 

Your Impact  

Reports to Power Plant Manager and/or Utilities Manager Highest project site level of oversite regarding power distribution operations to include electrical production efficiency, MV/LV electrical safety, documentation and record keeping Attend meetings with Prime Contractor/US Military/VGS Senior Leadership and give update/status reports for power plant and MV/LV electrical distribution systems Lead electrical teams or line crews to perform routine installation maintenance, and repairs on high voltage switchgear, distribution networks & LV electrical circuitsPerform hands-on routine inspection, preventative maintenance, condition monitoring, troubleshoots, corrective and emergency repairs on generator sets and associated local control systems and SCADA system with computer servers and interface controllers in working order. Diagnose problems and then repair/replace defective parts as required Perform hands on electrical maintenance and repair of power production electrical and mechanical and auxiliary systems of power generation facilities operating at 5-85Mw and greater total output with diesel driven prime movers Perform hands on inspections, operates, and maintains the paralleling and main medium voltage switchgear systems, with local and remote monitor and metering capabilities, SCADA and PLC control systems, alarm response to ensure maximum system reliability Locate and rectify faults on the overhead and/or underground medium and low voltage networks during power interruptions Inspects operational activities for safety precautions and instructs employees against occupational hazards. Responsible for employee conduct and compliance with all safety policies, regulations and compliance with all OSHA and NFPA requirements Coordinates environmental testing, required permitting and compliance activities with the US Military/Prime Contractor designated representative. Responsible for operation of the power generation facility within all environmental and regulatory requirements and constraints Supervise, manage, and schedule multi-skilled level operations and maintenance team members, electrical switchgear and relay technicians  Completes performance evaluations, implements training programs, addresses grievances, and administer disciplinary actions as required to subordinate multi-national employees Reviews and approves employee timesheets Maintains technical library and record-keeping which documents all procedures necessary to accomplish assigned responsibility Responsible for facility custodianship of work area, hand, power, and shop tools Responsible for department communications activities – attend/participate in department meetings Identify department risk/liability and develop work plans to manage ongoing risks as it relates to the operation of the power generation facilities, power delivery and power quality. Be able to articulate concerns and forward to VGS Senior Leadership Responds to emergency calls regarding power generation equipment breakdowns and unit outages. Ability to interpret and apply required corrective action with data readings and results of equipment checks to identify equipment or process problems and take appropriate responses to correct or resolve problems Ensure required documentation/reporting is submitted in a timely manner Attend/deliver daily Safety meetings/stand downs IAW with VGS and Prime contractor policies  Take ownership of power distribution networks/equipment to ensure repairs, maintenance, overhauls, etc. are performed with utmost of quality/safety in mind and IAW manufactures service/maintenance recommendations  Accountability for power plant staff, tools, manuals, and equipment status-FMC/NMC Attend VGS EHS (Electrical Health & Safety) training and establish a status of SAP (Senior Authorized Person) Write switching programs, sanctions to test and permits to work Operate/perform within the behavioral guidelines/policies/procedures put forth by USG, US Military Command, Host Nation, Prime Contractor and VGS  Perform internal Power Plant & MV/LV Distribution audits for safety, contract compliance, environment compliance and overall power production/distribution efficiency  Scheduling of electrical team member’s work schedules (to include days off, R&R, etc) to ensure proper staffing is in place for efficient power plant operation and electrical safety  Reviews all power plant/MV/LV distribution daily, weekly, monthly, annual reports and CDRLs prior to submission to Prime Contractor, US Military and VGS Senior Leadership to ensure transparency and accuracy  Perform routine installation, maintenance, and repairs on electric power control equipment, high voltage switchgear, distribution networks, distribution lines, or electric-generating equipment in accordance with the NEC and local codes  Implementation of training programs, safety standards/practices, work ethics, VGS company policies/procedures, etc Promote and maintain safety following established safe work practices and procedures Assist in the location and rectification of faults on the overhead and/or underground high voltage networks during power interruptions Work on power cables, transformers, insulators, and control equipment such as switches, circuit breakers, and panels. This includes collecting transformer oil samples that are tested for contamination as well as cleaning up contaminated sites Install and connect transformers and make hot taps and splices Install underground cable, conduit, and ductwork. Install transformers; string lights and power wires on cross arms and through ducts and manholes; make electrical connections; and splice cables Ensure correct testing and isolation procedures are followed before working on de-energized MV electrical networks, switchgear or associated systems Execute the company’s policy and procedure for proper and efficient operation of the power plants and distribution network Inform the Prime Contractor PWD, US Military, Power Plant Manager, and VGS QA/QC Manager of the location of a failure, possible cause, and repairs required on the Distribution Network Duties will involve work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to tropical climatic conditions including frequent rainstorms, high humidity and temperatures up to 95F degrees in the summer months Must be able to work overhead with arms raised for extended periods Scheduled work hours up to 72 hours per week Perform other duties as assigned.  

Required Qualifications  

Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.Must be able to speak, read and write English fluentlyMust maintain a valid driver’s license from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment dateMust maintain a valid passport from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date.  Passport must have a minimum of 6 blank pages prior to OCONUS mobilization. Must satisfy the USARPAC Force Health Protection Guidance medical requirements for INDOPACOM prior to OCONUS mobilization, must be able to maintain a Medically Qualified (MQ) rating on an annual basis. Must be CAC eligible and able to gain and maintain authorized entry onto US military installations.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Additional Required Qualifications   

Must hold a Journeyman or Master Electrician License Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing, commissioning, inspecting, operating, monitoring, maintaining, and repairing multi-diesel driven generator power generation facilities/MV/LV distribution systems with an output capacity of 5-85Mw or greater A thorough knowledge of the mechanical and electrical makeup and operation of powered support systems, to include but not limited to their major mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components-- Standard Diesel generators, Controls genset synchronizing and paralleling, genset communication/monitoring systems such as PULSE SCADA, Switchgear, protection relays, substations, cables, transformers, RMUs, etc Able to show experience with inspection, commissioning, testing, and repair components of electrical systems to include generators, transformers, transfer switches, switch gear, PLC controls, and fuel monitoring and delivery systems Ability to follow troubleshooting procedures and use deductive reasoning to isolate the fault; and provide step by step feedback on all steps taking Able to take specific verbal and written directions and carryout directions from the supervisor. Decisions made are covered by specific, well-established work methods and procedures Must be able take corrective action in accordance with instructions, processes, procedures as applicable to power production/distribution environments  Experience in the Switching Operations of Medium Voltage Distribution Networks Experience in providing prime power O&M Services to clients Must provide copies of training certificates in the Fundamentals of Electrical Safety based on NFPA 70E standards. This training must have been completed one year prior to the start of the contract Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards for electrical and mechanical trades, related safety practices, and skill required for the installation, maintenance, and repair of power generator systems and equipment Basic knowledge and trained with current certification of First Aid & CPR Must rescue an injured victim from an electrical conductor Must know Lockout/Tagout Procedures Experience working in international work environments with expatriate or US military Experience in the Installation, Commissioning, Operation, and Maintenance of MV/LV Distribution Networks and associated Hardware and Switchgear Experience in working on a team and training others Familiarity with electrical components and knowledge of wiring (where and how controls are installed and operated) Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling and working outdoors. Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum Must have knowledge of use and proper application of Personal Protective Equipment Experience in installing and maintaining medium voltage electrical distribution network Experience in fault finding and rectifying in Underground and Overhead Distribution Networks Must be able to demonstrate strong personnel management skills of labor forces exceeding 15 or more personnel   Proactive nature and strong interpersonal skills in collaborating, communicating and working with (1) Other senior managers and staff (to include Site management team), (2) Local and International subcontractors; (3) US Military representatives; and (4) Local officials as required Must possess current training and be able to demonstrate general knowledge of industrial safety and environmental regulations, including compliance with OSHA and NFPA70E requirements, personal protective equipment usage and lock out tag out procedures for electrical, mechanical and fluid systems and controls Ability to read, comprehend/understand and apply information contained in manufacturer equipment manuals, facility document including drawings and specification, operation and maintenance manuals, standard operating and emergency response procedures, material safety data sheets, etc Ability to interpret and apply required corrective action with data readings and results of equipment checks to identify equipment or process problems and take appropriate responses to correct or resolve problems Specific understanding and knowledge of power generation equipment startup and shut down and basic equipment maintenance procedures as they relate to the power generation equipment and/or auxiliary operator  Experience using all types hand and power tools, shop equipment such as hydraulic presses, drill presses, hydraulic, electric or pneumatic lifting devices, etc  Experience using all types of measuring devices such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges, etc Experienced in working with other technical staff Must be able to demonstrate strong personnel management skills of labor forces exceeding 15 or more personnel   Must have oral and written communication skills sufficient to produce employee evaluations and written reports for upper management and to brief upper management on project status Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is required, high level is preferred Minimum 5 years as Licensed Journeyman/Master Electrician--MV/LV power distribution systems  Provide Certificates and/or willingness to attend formal training
