About This Role
Your challenges
As Group Cell, Logistic, you will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 25 employees including handling, packaging and shipping of finished products in collaboration with the manufacturing and assembly teams.. Your role will be to assist in developing the team and the culture of continuous improvement. You and your team will be responsible for managing freight, deliveries and logistical support for the delivery of parts and flight simulators.
Personnel Management
Supervise the shipping/receiving team’s daily activities;Define assignments and workload within the team and establish priorities;Establish budgets for the department;Monitor the team’s costs and work quality;Develop work procedures and standards;Adhere to the collective agreement and human resources management policies;Define work objectives and help manage employees’ performance evaluations;Continuous Improvement and Processes
Address manufacturing issues associated with the production cells, equipment management and cycle time reduction.Actively participate in continuous improvement projects in the department and in support departments;Product Projects
Negotiate freight rates with national and international carriers to ensure goods are shipped based on established requirements and on budget.Communicate about the progress of strategic projects in concert with senior management.Your strengths
College diploma (DEC) combined with experience in transport logistics;Minimum of five years of experience supervising a team of unionized and non-unionized employees;Knowledge of global logistic/fees/import-export;Knowledge of import and export controls relating to manufactured goods shipped to or from Canada, an asset;Ability to manage partnerships with subcontracting companies in a logistics group, an asset;Ability to communicate with different hierarchical levels in the business unit and with our clients;Key collaborator;Ability to focus on results and problem solving;Intermediate-level Excel skills;Knowledge and application of the ‘’Lean manufacturing’’ concept;Bilingualism.CAE offers:
